This is a really nice vintage Seiko Silverwave watch Ref. 8229-8000 from the 1981s, featuring Kanji/English day display and a screw-down crown, housed in a 36mm case from the Suwa factory.

The Silverwave series was known for its enhanced water resistance, indicated by the screw-down crown and "double" tsunami wave on the case back, but as it is a vintage watch, I cannot guarantee this for daily use.

The watch is in good, but used condition. The crystal and dial are pristine, but the case has signs and scratches due to wear and tear. The caseback has inscriptions in Kanji (Japanese).

Overall, it's a standout piece with a beautifully applied logo on the dial, slim black hands. Nice detail is the mirrored chapter ring that enhances the sunburst-white dial perfectly.

This watch has been fully serviced by a watchmaker and operates perfectly. Sets and keeps time well. Quickset day and date work as they should.
