Seiko Chronos, not to be confused with the Seiko Cronos, is an severely underrated series of watches from Seiko, specifically for the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market Models.

Often people prefer the earlier predecessor Seiko Silverwave Watches, or they know the successor Seiko Spirit (because it ran much longer, even though some model existed under Chronos first, and were carried over to Spirit).

The Seiko Chronos was a mid-entry line of quartz watches with no complications, just quartz calibers with some dressier, some sportier configurations with screw-down crowns and anti-magnetic casebacks, that first entered the stage in the Seiko Catalog of 1982.

Seiko Chronos included quartz calibers like 7731, 7432, 7433, 8123 and 8121 in 1982 but also used the 9021, 9531, the rare led-5c23 and ended using movements like the 5H23 in total ran for around 8 years.

By 1990, the Chronos series was superseeced by the Seiko Spirit. There's some models that literally just changed dial text and stayed the same, or were only replaced with a newer quartz caliber.

For me, Seiko Chronos Watches offer the perfect ratio of proper Seiko Build Quality & Design, but for a super fair price.
